So Far So Good

We're still here with not much change, which is okay by us. Pat had a chest x-ray today and Dr O' Donnell said it looked better, definitely not worse...good news. I literally am counting minutes until Tuesday, knowing that every minute that passes and Pat stays strong is one minute closer to treatment. I see how fragile people are in this condition and I'm so thankful Pat has the heart and soul of a fighter. I know I've said it a hundred times but faith is such a strong ally, without it I would be lost. The faith that you all have in Pat amazes and comforts us more than you will ever know. The kids are doing well, they have stepped up to the plate in so many ways, I am so proud of them. I have started my own social circle here at City of Hope (I'm sure you are all shocked!), I go out of my way to meet new people and hear all their stories. My newest friend is Claire, her husband also has ALL. They live in Las Vegas and had to move their three teenage kids here and enroll them in school out here. As I have said before there may only be one person lying in the hospital bed but the whole family has the disease. I really helps to have a support group here at the hospital, it can get rather lonely. As we move towards the weekend let's pray for Pat's continued strength and positive outlook....one day or one minute at a time.
Love you guys,
Jules

Julie & Pat... ya know I dont know all of you very well except through Dave I do. Reading what Maribeth wrote about being ADDICTED to the blog, its so TRUE -Dave is so busy at AHAB that he appreciates me keeping up on the blog. He really misses you at work Pat... you could get things done. Hope the bookmark and cards gave you two some inspiration to stay strong. Were thinking of you guys and we always check in to see the latest so we can be precise in our prayers.

Pat
Just found one of my employees daughter works for Brad Etter - (off road racer) you may know him -I guess he knows Robby well and went to school with him. Sounds like he is building a new track in Anaheim. As soon as you get out we may need to put nascar on hold and check out some offroad races instead (or both). I know we have talked about it but its time to get er done. Just one of the things on our long list of excursions to look forward to.

Hope you have a good weekend. We'll be thinking of you.

PS. Do you have room next to your bed for a cute, loveable lab named Jack who would love to keep you company??? JK

Wow-did my husband just call Jack cute and lovable?? Hmmmm...that's just a little bit different than what he calls him here at home! It's great because now instead of teeth on the back of my calf I get the edge of a cone shoved into my achilles-not sure which one I enjoy more! Oh well only 5 more days of the cone. We thought that getting him fixed might calm him down a bit...I think it angered him instead!!Beau says hi..Luv ya!

Patrick, Jules and Gang,

Continued prayers are sent your way on a daily basis from the Barnyard house. We're "keppin the faith! Julie, did my daughter-in-law, Jen(Eric's Wife)tell you your cousin was my grandaughter, Cori's troop leader? Small world. I guess she recognized the family on Emily's web site. I'm at their house taking care of the family while they are in Oakland, a bi-yearly trip to see Rett specialists for Emily. I'm having a great time! I love being with them.

Hang in there beautiful family. We love you guys.

The Barnard Gang.
