I'm Baaaack!

Well the big boss is back in town. I truly enjoyed my weekend in New Mexico with Chloe. It was just the shot in the arm I needed to get through the next few weeks. LMU went 1-1, but they beat New Mexico which was huge because they are highly ranked. Brock didn't play as much as he would have liked, but he realizes he's the "new kid on the block" and has to pay his dues. I really missed Pat, but I knew he was in great hands. Thanks to all his visitors, I really appreciate it and I know Pat was probably glad not to have me nagging him.Things seem to be okay right now. Pat has developed a little cough. The Dr. believes it's because he's using his lungs more and the cough is a result of them expanding. They did a chest cat scan today so we'll probably hear more tomorrow. My prayers continue to be for strength to get to the clinical trial. Keeping Pat strong is so important. The days seem to last forever for me, I can only imagine how never-ending they are for him. Pat's watching Monday Night Football right now and resting after his daily work-outs. Your on going prayers are so helpful, please pray for Pat to get over this cough and to have a relatively smooth 11 more days until his next treatment. Love and appreciation to all who have touched our lives and keep us in their thoughts.
xoxo,
Jules

Hi Pat. Saw your brother today...that's right, another Panno collision. Anyway, he clued me in on the anonymous identity for sending a comment. I'm a little slow, but dumb. Just the everyday normal stuff around here. Lauren broke her arm two weeks ago and my van got crushed between a waste management truck and a stop sign. In the world of mishaps, they don't amount to much. Our thoughts are with you always. Keep up the fight. Lauren sends her love. See you soon.

Pat and Jules,
We are watching and waiting with you two. Keep up through Jeff and his friendship with Brady. Jeff is so impressed with how Brady has stepped up to the plate, you should be very proud. Have you been following all the CSUF drama with the coaches???? Crazy..we are all gonna laugh about it when we are at the games during the season right? Not too worried about the cough since you have been antiobiotiked (terrible spelling) to the max! Jules, glad you got to go to New Mexico...I know that it was hard to be away from your man but sounded like he was in good hands, coors light and all! All kidding aside, glad you could be there for Brock. Anyway, please know that we love you all and pray for you and your family everyday. Somehow...we don't worry...after all Pat is a total stud right??? Pat, Jules, Brady, Brock, Chloe...WE LOVE YOU!!!
Kaplans! PS...Lauren is being induced this Sunday night....will keep ya posted!

Hi Pat,

Well, we survived our first big trip in the Winnebago - all the way to Albuquerque and back. Bob only had a couple of *x@*#@&*#'s attacks! It's a little wierd knowing we can never back up when you're towing a car - quite a challenge. It was great to be there for Brock and with Julie and Chloe. Your whole family are such a reflection of you and Julie. Great kids and strong, like you. Enjoyed the games. And, hope we can visit you soon. I understand you get to go outside today and get some fresh air. That should be a great shot in the arm for you. Bob and I think about you all the time and can't wait for you to get out of there and back home. Love you!!!

Dear Pat,

My name is Gary Capata and Jo Ann and I have worked together for 17 years. I have had the pleasure of meeting your Dad, Henry Smith. We have shared some social events. Jo Ann has been keeping me abreast of your circumstances. It sounds like you are receiving excellent care from family, friends and City of Hope. I would like to convey my sincere get well wishes to you. All of us here at Capata & Co. think of you and how you will overcome your battle every day. I hope our positive thoughts help to lift your spirits as much as any medicine! We have great confidence in your return to health and I hope to meet you one day since we both share this fine city of Laguna Niguel.

Wishing you happier, healthier days ahead.

Sincerely,

Gary Capata, CPA
Mayor of Laguna Niguel

Hey Pat and Julie,
Our prayers for you just keep on keepin on! We had dinner with Brady last night as you probably know. I hope all went well with the Broncoscopy today. I am sure it sucked. Pun intended. But at least it helps get the crap out of there. I find myself telling the stuff to die when I am helping the Dr's with one on our kids. It kind of sick I know but it make me feel better about having to put the kids thru it in the first place.
Brady caught us up to speed on your world. I wish like heck I could push you through the next few days of waiting and get the show on the road! Stay strong we are praying for you.
Julie if I can help while Brady and Becky are away call me. I am here.
Love Carrie and the rest of the Gerhard's
