Twenty four years ago today I walked into the El Torito in Laguna Hills and saw the cutest guy sitting in the bar with a group of friends. I quickly pointed him out to my friend and wasted no time introducing myself to him and inviting him to a party. He reluctantly agreed, of course I didn't give him much choice because I was sitting on his lap. As we were about to head off to the party I think he was having second thoughts and tried hiding out in the bathroom. Silly boy, he didn't realize yet who he was dealing with. I camped myself right outside the men's restroom and waited patiently for him to exit. Well, the rest as they say is history. I reminded Pat today that it was our first meeting "anniversary", and told him I am so glad I walked into that El Torito and he replied "me too." Now with Pat's chemo started, he and I along with our children and all our family and friends wait patiently for the leukemia to exit. And wait we will as long as it takes...be it days, weeks or months. Silly leukemia, it doesn't realize who it's dealing with. Keep praying. Love and good health to you all.
xoxo,
Jules

WHAT A CUTE AND SPECIAL MEMORY! THANKS FOR SHARING. YOU ARE BOTH LUCKY, AND BLESSED. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.
LOVE, DEBBIE LEPPER(adopted sister)
I know you missed eating that hospital food and that is why you got that darn infection.
That was a great story. I can not remember the exact day I met Robert. Just maybe the "around the month of".
Keep up the good work!!!
Our prayers are with you everyday.
The boys say hi and are looking forward to playing with their Uncle Pat soon.
I have a dirty joke for you.
Kim, Gavin & Nolan
This guy goes to a super market and goes to isle 12 and asks for a box of condoms.
The lady askes "what size" and the guy says "I don't know" so the lady askes him to pull down his pants.
The lady tugs a few times and says "you need a box of x-large condoms".
So this guy hears behind him and he asks for a box of condom's, and the lady says "what size" and the guy says I don't know.
So the lady asks him to pull down his pants.
The lady tugs a few time and says "get a box of medium condoms"
So this teenager in isle 11 hears and wants some of the action.
So he goes to isle 12 and asks "can I have a box of condoms"
The lady asks "what size" and the teenage says "I don't know"
So the lady asks him to pull down his pants .
When he does, the lady tugs a few times, stands up and announces "Clean up in isle 12"
Loved the story Julie! I think Pat should get himself to the El Torrito Men's room to see if the cancer will leave! :) It could be the new trial treatment he's been waiting for.....just a little humor for you both. All jokes aside though, it's so yucky outside (air quality) that I think Pat's probably safer in the hospital right now. He can feel right at home with people wearing the little, white face masks! In the mean time, we'd like you to know we haven't forgot about you with everything else going on. We continue the prayers daily for this teatment to work so Pat can get on with the bone marrow!
Love, thoughts and prayers-
Teri
Hi Pat and Julie!
I adore those love-at-first-sight stories! Sure worked out well for you two! And so will this chapter of your lives. Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts to lift your spirits! I have the utmost confidence in your return to health.
Hugs, Jo Ann
Hi Uncle Pat,
This is Blake and I want to say HI! We don't have school today because of the fire. It is so smoky outside. I hope you are feeling good and you get to come home soon. Do you like puzzles? I do. You should do a puzzle when you are staying at the hospital. They are fun but kind of hard. Well I have to go. Say Hi to Auntie Julie for me.
Love,
Blake 10-25-2007
The stories were great! Should you decide to do a puzzle - they have roll up puzzle matts that hold the puzzle in place when you put it away - they have them online for $16 - http://www.bitsandpieces.com/jump.jsp?itemID=3426&itemType=PRODUCT&productPrefix=W

Hi Pat,
It was great seeing you looking so well yesterday. Also glad that you are eating big plates of food! You know how mothers are, always trying to get their kids to eat. Keep up the good work, the breather, the exercise, the walking and you'll be back home sooner. I think about you all the time - I check this website at least 3 times a day and talk to Julie every morning and night. Stay focused - you can and will beat "LUKE'S" bit!!!
Love,
Nancy
